Under some circumstances you may find that a Crystal Reports template
no longer works with the structure of data you are sending it. This can
happen if:
- You have added a data field to the list of Data Selections in an Inquiry Profile.
- You have upgraded to a new version of time@work or expense@work
and there have been some changes in the structure of data sent to
Crystal Reports (this is rare).
Solution
Fortunately there are ways of bringing Crystal Reports templates into line with your new data structure without having to recreate the template from scratch.
- Run the appropriate Ledger Inquiry Profile and establish yourself at the stage where you can select an existing template or Create a New one.
- Click on the Create New button as if you are creating an entirely new template.
- Close this template.
- Open the template which you want to modify.
- Select Database on the Menu Bar and Set Datasource Location…
- Select Data_ttx in the upper panel.
- Select Create New Collection and Database Files in the lower panel and then use the file browser to find data_ttx in the time@work Maintenance folder.
- Then click the Update button.
- And then Close.
All you have to do now is to save the Crystal Reports template.
You should now find that the template has been made consistent with the data structure now supplied to it by the Inquiry Profile.
