Recommended Hardware Settings For [email protected] Software (Updated April 2018)

Recommended Hardware

Hardware requirements for [email protected] and [email protected] will vary considerably between clients. Factors such as whether or not Servers are dedicated and whether they are Physical or Virtual Servers will also have a significant bearing on the RAM and CPU requirements.

The following should therefore be considered as guidelines only:

Please note that the [email protected] and [email protected] Maintenance Applications are not supported in a WAN environment. For clients who are deploying this architecture we recommend the use of Citrix or Remote Desktop / Terminal Server.

Up to 100 Users

200 Users

For 200 users a minimum Ram on the IIS Server of 8GB is required. 16GB or 32GB is recommended.

400+ Users

For 400+ users a minimum Ram on the IIS Server and SQL Server of 16GB and a 64 Bit Operating System is required. 32GB or 64GB is recommended.

As general guidance we would recommend that you allow 100MB of RAM per simultaneous/concurrent Web user. Therefore if you anticipated up to 160 of your employees using the system at the same time then 16GB would be the minimum RAM we would recommend.

For clients using the Document Attachment capabilities of [email protected] and [email protected] it is important to ensure that appropriate storage is available depending on the file types and frequency of upload.
